‘Kare for Kassidy’ set this weekend

RESERVE — A fundraiser to help 6-year-old Kassidy Terrio, diagnosed with Neuroblastoma Cancer, will be held this Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Reserve Bantam Athletic Club.

Friends of the Terrio’s, Cherie S. Accardo and Pam Warner, along with others, helped organize the &#8220Kare 4 Kass” fundraiser to help defray the cost of medical expenses for Kassidy’s recovery.

&#8220There will be lunches available on Friday at 11 a.m. for $6,” Cherie said. &#8220We will have jambalaya and white beans. We will have the lunches until we are sold out.”

Hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken nuggets and fries will be available throughout the weekend. Some of the highlights for the three days include:

€Texas Hold’em Poker Tournament-Friday

€Spacewalks and horseshoes-Friday

€Mixed Cabbage ball Tournament-Saturday

€Live Band &#8220Misbehavin”-Saturday

€Luminary Lighting-Saturday

€Biker Poker Run -Sunday

€Mixed Volleyball Tournament-Sunday

€Live Band &#8220Off the Hook”-Sunday

According to Cherie, there are already 20 teams signed up for cabbage ball, 16 for volleyball and between 200 and 300 bikes for the biker poker run on Sunday.

She also said there will be plenty of games for children, including tic tac toss, clown toss, basketball throw and a dunk booth to name a few.

&#8220We will also have a blood drive for a replenishment supply for Kassidy Terrio and George Loupe,” Cherie said.

&#8220On Friday, the blood drive will be held between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., and on Saturday form 8 a.m. until noon,” she added.

According to Cherie, monetary donations are being accepted as well and should be made payable to Kassidy Terrio Community Support Fund and mailed to P.O Box 1893, LaPlace, LA 70069.

The Reserve Bantam Athletic Club is located at 302 Railroad Ave. in Reserve, next to Riverside Academy.
