BOURGEOIS

PAULINA – Russel Joseph Bourgeois, 82, a native of Grand Point and a resident of Paulina, died March 7.
He was the husband of Stella LeBlanc Bourgeois.
He is survived by children Sherry Bourgeois, Denis and Mary Bourgeois Troxclair, Russell Jr. and Cheryl Bourgeois, Danny “Buck” and Cathy Bourgeois and Bobby and Stephanie Bourgeois.
He is also survived by siblings Rowena Stein, Noeda Matherne and Marian Madere, grandchildren Todd, Troy, Travis, Jared, Cory, Ryan, Brittany and Lauren Bourgeois, Vicki Tate, Jeremy, Jason, Jessica and Joshua Troxclair and great-grandchildren Brooklyn, Bailey, Annslee and Dominic Bourgeois.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ludovic Bourgeois and Louise Louque Bourgeois and a brother Elton Bourgeois.
Services were held March 9 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, with interment in St. Joseph Mausoleum.
GEASON
BOUTTE – Percy T. “Skinner” Geason, 62, a native of St. James and a resident of Boutte, died March 2.
He was the husband of Beverly Ann Geason.
He is survived by his children Letitia LeBeauf, Crystal Rafiel, Erica Clement, Percy, Tyra, Kelva, Dionca and Jason Hill.
He is also survived by siblings Dorothy Hensley, Charles Smith, Shirley Joseph and Gloria Simmons, 21 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Milton Geason and Fanny Johnson and siblings Teresa Steibs, Lawrence, Milton Jr. and Alex Geason.
Services were held March 9 at First Baptist Church, Paradis, with interment in Mayflower Cemetery, Ama.
HYMEL
ST. CHARLES PARISH – Elsie Mae Hymel, 87, a native of St. Charles Parish and a resident of Lafayette, died March 11. She was the wife of the late Sidney G. Hymel Jr.
She is survived by children Clyde J. Hymel and his wife Charlene and Mary Toce and her husband Oran.
She is also survived by a brother Tyrus Keller and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son Robert Hymel who was killed on Sept. 11, 2001 at the Pentagon and his survived by his wife Beatrice and his daughter Natalie, her husband Patrick and their two daughters.
Services will be held today at 1 p.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Destrehan, with interment in the church mausoleum.
H.C. Alexander Funeral Home of Norco is in charge of arrangements. Visitation will begin 10 a.m. at the church.
LASSEIGNE
LAPLACE – Helen Millet Lasseigne, 90, a native of Lions and a resident of LaPlace, died March 7.
She was the wife of the late Robert “Bob” Lasseigne.
She is survived by children Wayne (Whitney) and Phillip Lasseigne, Elaine DeBautte and Roline “Cookie” Alexander.
She is also survived by a sister Ruby Lee Sherrer, 15 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and six great great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Carrie Weaver Millet, children Bobby Lasseigne Jr. and Lorraine L. Boudreaux and brothers Ted and Larry Millet.
Services were held March 9 at the Millet-Guidry Funeral Home Chapel, LaPlace, with interment in St. John Memorial Gardens, LaPlace.
QUIET
RESERVE – Jeffery Daniel Quiet, 51, a native of Garyville and a resident of Reserve, died March 6.
He was the son of Mary Artberry Ellis and the late Rossie Quiet.
He is survived by siblings Allen, Larry, Harold Washington, Edward Craighead, Glendora C. Warren and Brenda Louper.
He is also survived by his companion Thelma Jones, sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by siblings Donald Washington and Rose W. Bolden.
Services will be held today at 11 a.m. at True Light Baptist Church, Garyville, with interment in Zion Travelers Baptist Church Cemetery, Reserve.
The Baloney Funeral Home of Garyville is in charge of arrangements. Visitation begins at 9 a.m. at the church.
STANGA
LAPLACE – John Travis Stanga Jr., 48, a native of Hammond and a resident of LaPlace, died March 7.
He was the son of Josie Accardo Stanga and the late John “J.T.” Stanga Sr.
He is survived by his sisters Gwendolyn Domiano and Charlynn Mader.
He is also survived by his fiancée Eva McCain.
Services were held March 10 at Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home, Ponchatoula, with interment in the Stanga Cemetery.
TILLETT
LAPLACE – Anna May Tillett, 65, a native of Philadelphia, PA and a resident of LaPlace, died March 6.
She was the wife of the late Ronald Tillett.
She is survived by children Alice McCleery, Debra Baux, Tammy Murr and Ronald Tillett Jr.
She is also survived by a son-in-law David Murr, 10 grandchildren and siblings Doris Stein Hagen and Martin Thom.
She was preceded in death by her parents Martin Thom and Alice and John McPoyle and son David Tillett.
Services were held March 10 at Millet-Guidry Funeral Home Chapel, LaPlace.
