Leroy Paul “Squack” Loup, 72, died at his residence on October 27. The Luling native is survived by his wife of 49 years, Cecil Hymel Loup; a daughter and three sons, Yvonne Adam, Chris Loup, Gregory Loup, and Glenn Loup; 4 sisters and 2 brothers, Annabel Lambert, Linda Chauvin, Ruby Roussel, Shirley Shexnayder, F.J. Loup Jr., and Curtis Loup. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren. Loup was retired from the Monsanto Chemical Plant after thirty years of service. Visitation and mass of Christian Burial was Tuesday October 30 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Entombment was at the St. Charles cemetery.
Bourgeois
Norma Faye Kliebert Bourgeois, 69, died Friday October 26. The Lutcher resident is survived by a son and three daughters, Gerald Bourgeois Jr., Pam Louque, Debbie B. Waugespack, Rachel Louque; brother and sister, Roy Kliebert and Bea Picou. She is also survived by eight grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Gerald Bourgeois; parents, Samuel and Elucia Kliebert; five brothers, Thomas, Hewitt, Daniel, Daniel, Durel and Russell Kliebert. Visitation was at H.C. Alexander Funeral Home in Lutcher, Sunday, October 28 and Monday October 29. Mass of Christian burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church was conducted by Father Ed Fuss, entombment was in St. Joseph Catholic Church Mausoleum.
Lewis
Thelma Groves Lewis, 79, died on October 28. She is survived by five daughters and two sons, Audrey Howard, Betty Jackson, Janice Stewart, Amelia Swilley, Sheryl Lewis, Allen Lewis Sr., and Lionel Lewis Sr; two brothers and two sisters, Joseph Grows Jr., Lionel Grows Sr., Amy Narcisse and Mildred Clark. She is also survived by sixteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Junius Lewis Jr., daughter, Mary Jane Lewis, sons Harold Martin and Peter James Lewis, ward Cory Groves, father Joseph Groves Sr., mother Everlina Stockman Grows, brother Clarence Grows, sisters Stephiner Dumas, Lena Grows, Laura Grows, Hilda Bailey and Beulah Bailey. Services will be held at Second African Baptist Church on Saturday November 3, 2007 at 11AM. Visitation is at 9AM. Reverend Joseph Weber will officiate.
