In Reserve Christian’s last volleyball match of the season, the Eagles took the Hannan Hawks down to the wire.
But in the end, the Hawks prevailed in the teams’ district encounter. Hannan defeated RCS in five games last Tuesday, 25-17, 22-25, 13-25, 25-18 and 15-7.
“We came so close. Hannan just wanted it a little bit more,” said Reserve Christian Coach Michelle McGee.
Khrista Robinson had ten aces in the match. Lacie Felder had four aces and two kills.
Reserve Christian (5-18, 4-6) finishes the season fourth in district 6-V.
“Although we lost the match, I am very proud of the team and the way they played,” said McGee.
RCS won two of its last three matchups, an encouraging development for McGee as she goes into her first offseason as Eagles Coach.
“They learned so much this season. I got lots of feedback from them,” said McGee. “There was also a lot of things that I did not know as a coach. We all have nine months to learn what we need to before next season.
“I learned a lot, had fun, and I know I’ll personally be a much stronger coach next year.”
