FCA wraps up summer camp activities

This summer members from Lutcher High School, St Charles Catholic, Riverside, and Reserve Christian attended four national camps put on by the Fellowship of Christian Athletics. In early June three students and one coach from St Charles Catholic attended a leadership camp at Belhaven College in Jackson, Mississippi. A group of 26 attended the girls multi-sport camp and coaches camps in Black Mountain, North Carolina June 24-28. A group of 35 athletes and five coaches attended the Black Mountain boys multi-sport camp in North Carolina July 8-13.
Aaron Brinkman a senior at Reserve Christian said, “Every speaker touched my life deeply. This experience also gave me a chance to come out of my comfort zone and I got to meet some people from St. Charles, Lutcher and Riverside.”
Jared Keating, a freshman at SCC, experienced his first camp. “I got to know God better every day and learned how to trust Him when I am playing sports and in every day life.” Steven Graver who will be a senior at SCC said ‘Šit was one of the best experiences of my life.” Senior Jesse Braud also of St. Charles Catholic, attended the girls camp and said that “Camp was a once in a lifetime experience and I had an amazing time. I met a lot of wonderful people and became closer to God.”
Campers from Lutcher High School who attended the Black Mountain Boys camp were: Dustin Carney, Ridge Corbett, Dustin St. Pierre, Jordan Hymel, Blake Rome, Jordan Duhon, Kaleb Broussard, Kenny Berthelot, Steven Bordelon, Bryan Schexnayder, Blake Cazes, Brison Louque, Adam Babin and coaches Drew Louque, Shane Martin and Hennis Roussel. Attending the girls camp from Lutcher were Kaitlyn Whitley, Kristin Whitley, Alana Abadie, Sarah Bordelon, Victoria Stein, Paige Griener, Shelbi Hymel, Brooke Rome, and Brooke Lambert. Lutcher coaches Lanny Remondet and Kim Lacombe attended the coaches camp and chaperoned the girls group.
