Louisiana Razorbacks improve to 2-1

The Louisiana Razorbacks semi-pro football team improved its record to 2-1 on Saturday, defeating the Gulf Coast Pirates 12-6 in overtime.

Brandon Lord of Algeria blocked a field goal attempt in the overtime period Orlando Jackson of Vacherie ran it back for the game-winning touchdown.

Wide receiver Allen Starks of Lutcher had a big day, totaling six catches for 184 yards. Wideout Phillip Dumas of Vacherie had five catches for 116 yards.

The Razorbacks got its first points on the board when quarterback Andrew Dennis scored from the one-yard line on a quarterback sneak.

Defensively, Bryson White of LaPlace had two sacks to lead the charge. Carlos Scott had one sack, and Roland Johnson of Donaldsonville intercepted a pass, returning it for 25 yards.

The Razorbacks travel to Lafayette on August 11 to take on the Louisiana Swamp Gators. They will return home to play at home, at St. James High School against the Arkansas Xtra at 7:30 on August 18.
