James Krawczyk, Allie Gonzales, Sean Doody and Gage Alleman each captured first place finishes in three individual events to help lead Belle Terre to its first victory of this swim season, a 254-1/2 to 238-1/2 win at Sun Villa on Monday night.

Belle Terre (1-3) built a 30 point lead after the individual events, and held off a hard charge by Sun Villa during the relays to preserve the 16 point win.

&#8220It’s a big accomplishment,” said Ashton Torres, who took first place in the 15-18 year-old boys butterfly event. &#8220It means a lot, and it gives us a lot of momentum going into our next meet.”

Belle Terre Coach Kellie Forster says the win was a great confidence boost for her swimmers.

&#8220It’s good to get that first win, it gets us going,” Forster said. &#8220It lets us know that we can compete and win. Kids are stepping up and working hard.”

Alleman, who has taken first place in all nine individual swimming events, says that he’s still improving as the year goes on.

&#8220I dropped my time a bit, so I felt pretty good about that,” he said. &#8220It just feels very good for us to win.”

Forster said that a point of emphasis for her team has been to improve its time in the butterfly event. It appears to be working, evidenced by the point differential in the butterfly event. Belle Terre outscored Sun Villa by 13, 48-35, its largest margin of victory in the meet.

Others who took first place finishes were: Meredith Buisson, Kegan Gilles, Giselle Jase, Rebecca Grote, Cari Jane Roussel, Justin Jase, Madalyn Buisson, Scott Lawless (two), and Lauren Broussard.

Belle Terre led 58-1/2 to 49-1/2 after the freestyle event; 111-1/2 to 95-1/2 after the backstroke; 150-1/2 to 133-1/2 after the breaststroke, and 198-1/2 to 168-1/2 after the butterfly.
