LAPLACE – The St. John Sheriff’s Office is asking residents for help identifying perpetrators whom allegedly dumped more than 115 automobile gas tanks near the Bonnet Carre Spillway sometime last week.
Roughly between 75 and 100 gas tanks showed up at Bailey’s landing, with another 40 at a nearby service road, according to Lt. Wayne Norwood of the St. John Sheriff’s Office.
Police ask that anyone who saw the perpetrators cutting the tanks off automobiles, loading them up into a truck or dumping them on the roadside to contact the St. John Sheriff’s Office at 985-652-9513. Witnesses will not be required to provide any personal information.
