LAPLACE – The St. John Sheriff’s office is searching for two men suspected of carjacking a LaPlace woman and her two children at gunpoint Wednesday night.

The St. John Sheriff’s Office reports that the 30 year-old woman pulled up to her house on the 200 block of Somerset St. with her 8-year-old and 3-year-old children at 6 p.m., when two men burst out of a Honda Civic brandishing handguns and demanded she give them her jewelry and car keys.

She gave in to their orders before both men sped off, one driving the Civic and the other in her 2003 white BMW, according to the St. John Sheriff’s Office.

One man reportedly covered his face with a red banana under a blue and white baseball cap, and the other wore a white bandana.

The St. John Sheriff’s Office asks that anyone with information call 985-652-9514.
