For the second year in a row, Hahnville’s girls team has won their annually hosted Don Raymond Relay track meet.

This year’s meet was held last Friday night in Boutte as the Lady Tigers were led to the team victory by Farrah August and her first place finishes in the 1,600 and the 3,200. She was joined in high point totals by Danielle Douglas, who won the 400, and Keira Davis, who took second in both the discus and the shot put.

Destrehan’s boys captured second place behind Tim Molten’s first place finish in the long jump and his third place in the triple jump. Chris Richard placed second in both events behind Molten.

Also from the River Region, East St. John placed eighth overall while West St. John rounded out the finalists.

Hahnville’s boys had three first place finishes in the meet as they were led by Marcus Campbell in the triple jump, Josh Lee in the hurdles and Shaine Boyle in the 100.

ESJ was led in the meet results by Jamaan Kenner’s first place finish in the high jump with a leap of 6’2”. The 4X100 relay team also took a first, recording a first place for the second week in a row.

&#8220I think I’ve got too few kids in too many events,” said ESJ coach Eleno Rodriguez. &#8220We didn’t do well for a number of reasons though. But you learn something every time out. I think with this week of practice, we can do better at the next meet.”

On the girls side for ESJ, Darielle Sanders recorded a second place triple jump and third in the 100.

West St. John boasted Blake Comminie as their top individual scorer with a second place finish in the discus.
