Hahnville’s Lady Tiger squad isn’t ranked among the best for nothing.

With their playoff life on the line last Thursday night at West Monroe, the HHS squad found themselves in a fourth quarter shootout after three periods of conservative offense.

Down 28-31 entering the fourth, Hahnville nearly doubled their score in the final eight minutes with a 23-19 run that tied the game to send it into overtime.

From there, the Lady Tigers kept their stride and outscored West Monroe 12-8 in the extra period to take a 63-59 win in the bi-district round of play.

Nadia Cox led HHS in the win with 15 points while Chey Hill got 13.

With the win, Hahnville’s girls squad is now set to host the district 2 champions, New Iberia. That game was scheduled for Monday, was unable to be included in this issue due to holiday deadline constraints.
