NEW SARPY – Holding a pistol to his forehead in deadly game of Russian Roulette, a 13-year-old New Sarpy boy reportedly told his friend, &#8220If anything happens to me, tell my family I love them,” put his life in the hands of chance and squeezed the trigger, but the odds weren’t favorable enough for Kerrick Robertson, according to the St. Charles Sheriff’s Office.

While his friend ran out of the room to tell family members what was about to take place, a gunshot rang out of one of the two handguns the boys had in a home in the 700 block of Van’s Lane, ending Robertson’s life, police said.

The incident, which occurred shortly after midnight last Saturday, was labeled a suicidal action by the St. Charles Sheriff’s Office. No one has been charged in connection with the boy’s death.

St. Charles Police did not know how many bullets were loaded in the pistols, a .22 and a .38, and could not confirm which handgun was used in the incident.

The house may have been owned by the Robertson’s uncle Otis Kenner, whose address is listed as 720 Van’s Lane, but St. Charles Police could not confirm that information.

&#8220It’s real unfortunate that an incident like this took place,” said Sgt. LeGrange of the St. Charles Sheriff’s Office. &#8220It was the prime years of a child’s life and we hate to see things like this happen.”
