Eugene
Paul Joseph Eugene, 52, died March 31, 2008. The Garyville native and LaPlace resident was the husband of Suzanne Robinson Eugene, step father of Courtney and Chloe, brother of Michael, Donald, Kenneth, Floyd Eugene, Barbara Eugene, Lorraine Sanders, Laura Eugene, JoAnn Lewis and Sharon Eugene and the late Herman Jr. and Charles Eugene.
Preceded in death by parents Rev. Herman and Rosemary Eugene.
Relatives and friends of the family, also pastor, officers and members of the New Hopeful Baptist Church in Garyville and employees of the St. John Housing Authority are invited to attend the funeral services on Saturday, April 5, at 11 a.m. at the New Hopeful Baptist Church. Entombment at St. John Memorial Gardens in LaPlace. Visitation will precede funeral services at the church after 9 a.m.
Hymel
Lee J. Hymel, 92, died April 1, 2008. The Edgard native was loving husband of Eleonor (nee Haydel), dear father of Kay Ann Reilly (Joseph), Gary S. Hymel (Loretta) Patricia Gallagher (William), Mary Ellen Kenney (Lawrence), and the late L. J. Hymel Jr., grandfather of 18 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Relatives, friends and members of Llanerch Country Club are invited to viewing Saturday, April 5, 2008, 10 AM followed by Funeral Mass 11 AM St. Bernadette Church in Drexel Hill, Pa. Entombment Arlington Cemetery, Drexel Hill. Donations may be made in his memory to St. Bernadette Church, 1035 Turner Ave., Drexel Hill, PA 19026.
Schexnayder
Yolande Schexnayder, 95, died March 29, 2008. The native and resident of Grand Point, La., is survived by sons James Schexnayder and Nelson and Rose Schexnayder, daughters Mary Jane and Lawrence Becnel, Esther Oubre and Dolores and Wilfred “Skinny” Catoire as well as 24 grandchildren, 65 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by wife Beatrice Louque “Bat” Schexnayder, son Carroll “Carrot” Schexnayder, daughter-in-law Florence Schexnayder, brothers Harold, Livingston, Onezime, Jack and Earl Schexnayder, sisters Earline St. Pierre, Yola Louque, Livonia St. Pierre, Alicia Leblanc and Pearl Lambert, parents Eugene and Mary Kilburn Schexnayder, grandchildren Darren Schexnayder and Kenny Catoire and great-great-grandchildren Colby Boudreaux and Nicholas Louque.
Visitation and services were held Tuesday, April 1, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paulina followed by interment in St. Joseph Cemetery Mausoleum.
Thibodaux
Yolande (Mena) Vicknair Thibodaux, 95, died March 30, 2008. The Reserve native and Metairie resident was the wife of the late Charles G. Thibodaux II, mother of Shirley T. Locascio, Charlene T. Tregre, Charles G. Thibodaux III and Randolph E.P. Thibodaux, grandmother of Dominick H. Locascio Jr., Yolande L. Hull, N. Scott Tregre, Ashley T. Jones, Emily T. Yurick, Randolph Jr., Tara, Keith and Paul Tibodaux, great-grandmother of Olivia, Nicholas, and Ashton Locascio, Dominique Hull, Colin M. Tregre, Jane and Catherine Yurick, Aliyah, Keith Jr. and Kylee Thibodaux and step-grandmother to Alyssa. She is also survived by three sisters, Edna V. Reine, Ruth V. Buckner and Miriam V. Hymel.
Preceded in death by parents Edward and Aurora Vicknair, siblings Edward Vicknair Jr., Lesian Waguespack, Lucille Landry, Dorothy Marchand, Berrenise Madere, Ruby Binnings and Audrey Borne and grandsons Charles A. Locascio and Russ P. Tregre.
Visitation and services were held Wednesday, April 2, at the Garden of Memories Funeral Home in Metairie. In lieu of flowers, donatons can be made in memory of Yolande to St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Reserve.
Marse
Anne Marie Rodrigue Marse, 94, died March 29, 2008. The Vacherie native and Metairie resident was the wife of the late Gaston E. Marse, mother of Warren J. and Alphonse J. Marse, sister of the late Edmond, Peter, Lawrence, Edgar Jr. and Blanche Rodrigue, daughter of the late Aline Gravois and Edgar Rodrigue, grandmother of Lauren Hernandez, Jennifer Luquette and Sophie Ann DesForges.
Services were held at the Leitz-Egan Funeral Home Chapel in Metairie on Wednesday, April 2. Interment followed in St. Patrick Cemetery #3.
