BOUTTE – St. Charles Sheriff’s deputies arrested two men in connection with the February 23 armed burglary of a residence in Boutte, in which the victim was tied up and hit repeatedly with a gun, said a spokesman for the Sheriff’s Office.
Sgt. Dwayne LaGrange, a Sheriff’s Office public information officer, said Jason Hill, 28, 245 Boutte Estates Dr., Boutte, and his cousin Kyron Hill, 20, 358 Alexander St., Boutte, were both booked with aggravated burglary after breaking into the home of a 45-year old Boutte woman, whose name was not released.
LaGrange said the two men entered the home in the 300 block of Kinler St. around 1 a.m., and approached the victim, who was sitting inside the house. The suspects pointed guns at the woman and demanded money, then proceeded to tie her up and strike her repeatedly with one of the guns. The victim’s husband was present in the house, but was asleep through the attack.
According to a Sheriff’s Office report, the suspects spent about an hour going through the residence before fleeing the scene. Nothing was taken from the home. The victim was treated for her injuries on the scene.
LaGrange said when deputies arrived at the home of one of the suspects, later revealed to be Jason Hill, he was found walking near the area. Hill was questioned about the incident by a deputy who recognized him, and later arrested on the scene. LaGrange also said that a van was found parked nearby with Kyron Hill sitting inside. LaGrange said Kyron Hill was also found in possession of marijuana.
Both men were transported to the Nelson Coleman correctional Facility in Hahnville where they are being held on separate bonds of $300,000.
