Riverside hadn’t played a home game in almost three weeks entering Tuesday’s district contest with Fisher on Tuesday. Riverside began its district schedule with five straight road games.
The Rebels certainly gave their fans something to cheer upon their return. Riverside dominated from start to finish in a 47-19 district victory over the Gators.
Riverside (9-14, 4-2) shut Fisher (3-10, 0-6) out in the first quarter and outscored the Gators 41-3 in the first half, allowing Rebels’ Coach Kristy Hebert to get her reserves in the game in the second half.
The win creates some separation for third place in District 10-2A for the Rebels, who are attempting to qualify for the postseason for the first time since 2002.
Fourth through sixth place is currently occupied by McGehee, Newman and Fisher, each of who have at least four district losses.
Marci Millet led Riverside with 13 points. Brittany Schoen added 12. Sarah Levin and Jessica Price each scored six.
