RESERVE — Two Reserve teenagers were arrested with guns this weekend after a complainant said they cursed at and shot at neighborhood children playing basketball.
St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff Mike Tregre said a deputy responded to the area of Emma Drive in Reserve at 6:55 p.m. Saturday after two teenagers walking on the railroad tracks yelled at and cursed at several juveniles playing basketball in the cul-de-sac.
“The complainant thought that they were the same two subjects that did the same thing two days earlier, which ended with the two teenagers firing two gunshots at them and running east on the railroad tracks,” Tregre said, adding a description of the teenagers was provided for authorities.
The reporting deputy saw two subjects matching the description.
“The deputy identified the subjects as Delano Frank, 18, and a 16-year-old male juvenile, both of Homewood Place in Reserve,” Tregre said. “They told the deputy that they were walking on the tracks doing nothing wrong.
“Deputies recovered a loaded handgun and synthetic marijuana from Frank and recovered a loaded handgun with an obliterated serial number from the juvenile.”
Frank was booked with criminal trespassing, illegal carrying of a weapon and possession of schedule I CDS. He remains in custody in lieu of a $22,000 bond.
