Miriam Delores MacArthur, died August 9, 2008. The LaPlace resident is survived by a son, Dennis MacArthur; three daughters, Jan Evans, Barbara Ashton, Charlene Gauna of LaPlace. She was Preceded in Death by her husband, Art MacArthur; parents, Charles Vocelka and Barbara Herby Vocelka; son, James MacArthur; brothers, James, Ernie and Elmer Vocelka; granddaughter, Sabrina Gauna. Roland Joseph Roussel, 87, died August 11, 2008. The Gramercy resident is survived by six children, Laddie Roussel, Doyle Roussel, Susanne Roussel, Gwendolyn R. Patterson, Michael Roussel, and Sidney Roussel; 16 grandchildren, Michelle Roussel, Rachelle Folchetti, Angelle Buono, Jeannelle Fontenot, Laddie Roussel Jr., Lynne R. Smith, Heidi Roussel, Doyle Roussel Jr., Vincent Patterson Jr., Danielle Roussel, Celeste Roussel, Michael Roussel, Ashley Roussel, Dustin Roussel, Alyson Roussel and Matthew Roussel. He is preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Hymel Roussel; his parents, Richard Roussel Sr. and Denise Fabre Roussel; 3 brothers, Richard Roussel Jr., Ernest Roussel Sr., Garland Roussel, Sr.; and one sister Marie Diane Roussel. Jennifer Jones, 62, died August 9, 2008. The Wallace native is the daughter of the late Cecelier Bradley Calvon, mother of Renee Jones, grandmother of Jennifer J. Jones and Jennika J. Jones, niece of Wilfred Armant and the late Elvira Armant, Anna Mae B. Jackson, Rosemary B. Gordon, Melvin Sr., Samuel Jr., and Nathan Bradley, godmother of Lendell Brown. BERNARD

Roland Paul Bernard, 85, died August 12, 2008. The Luling resident is preceded in death by his parents, Eddie and Lucille Bernard, and his seven brothers and sisters. He is survived by three children, Michael D. Bernard, Katherine M. Bernard and Tricia A. Bernard; five grandchildren, Bethany B. Ayuso, Kenneth P. Dempster Jr., Kerry M. Dempster, Mallory C. Muller, and Matthew J. Muller; and two great grandchildren, Michael Ayuso and Kayden Dempster. Visitation and mass of Christian burial were held Thursday, August 14, at the Holy Family Church in Luling, LA. Burial at St. Charles Cemetery Mausoleum.

McLEAN

Olivia Babin LeBlanc McLean, 86, died August 13, 2008. She is the daughter of the late Olivia and Cyril Babin, wife of the late Usley LeBlanc and John V. McLean II, sister of Cyril Babin and the late Marie Louise Babin and Josephine Zeringue. Special thanks are given to Octvia, Lula, Annie and Glenda of Home Care of LaPlace. Visitation will be held Saturday, August 16, from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., at H.C. Alexander Fuenral Home, Lutcher, La. A religious service will follow at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, LA. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.

HORZELSKI

Ken M. Horzelski, 22, died August 9, 2008. The LaPlace native is the son of Frances Murphy Horzelski and the late John “Jack” Horzelski Jr.; brother of Shane, Jason and Travis Horzelski; grandson of the late John and Myrtle Horzelski and John and Mary Murphy. Visitation and religious services will be held Saturday, August 16, at Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, 2806 W. Airline Hwy., LaPlace, La., starting at 8 a.m. Burial to be private at a later date.

Stanley A. Borne, Jr., 22, died August 9, 2008. The Reserve native is the son of Stanley Borne, Sr. and Deborah Guidry Borne, grandson of Helen Waguespack Borne and the late Whitney Borne, and Julian and Audrey Granier Guidry. Visitation was held Wednesday, August 13, at Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, followed by Religious Services at St. Peter Catholic Church. Burial in St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve, La.

Pat McTopy, Jr., 23, died August 9, 2008. The LaPlace native is the son of Pat and Rhonda Prudhomme McTopy, brother of Christy McTopy, grandson of Gladys McTopy and the late Donald McTopy, and Audrey Prudhomme and the late Richard Prudhomme. Visitation and religious services were held Wednesday, August 13, at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Laplace. Burial in St. Peter Cemetery Reserve, La.

Joshua “Nutty” McNulty, 20, died August 9, 2008. The LaPlace native is the son of Robert Jr. and Pamela Schettler McNulty, brother of Rebecca and Rachael McNulty, grandson of Robert and Emily McNulty Sr., the late Andrew and Carol Schettler, and Yvonne McNulty; nephew of Kim Dyess, Keith and Barbara McNulty, and Stacey Schettler. Visitation was held Thursday, August 14, at Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, LaPlace, LA, followed by religious services at Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church, LaPlace. He was laid to rest in St. John Memorial Gardens Cemetery, LaPlace.

Chance M. Millet, 25, died August 9, 2008.The LaPlace native and Lutcher resident is the son of Maria Troxclair Chauvin and Allen “Larry” Millet, brother of Cody and Cain Chauvin, and Christopher Millet, grandson of Mary Helen Troxclair and the late Huey Troxclair, and Rose Mary Millet and the late Allen Millet. Andre’ Floyd “Bosco” Becnel, Sr., 83, died August 10, 2008. The Vacherie native is survived by his wife Anne Earline Falgoust Becnel; sons James Becnel, Floyd Becnel, Jr., Eward Becnel, and Curtis Becnel; daughters Jackie Becnel, Rose B. Schexnayder; sisters Jeanne B. Gregoire, Rosemary B. Gravois, Mariette B. Becnel, and Virgie B. Folse; grandchildren Christie B. Granier, Cathy B. Duplantis, Leanna B. Bergeron, Joshua Becnel, Claudia Becnel, Michelle Becnel, Eric, Annie, Brennon, Jonathan and Ellie Becnel, Jeri-Annie Schexnayder, and Jordan Ockmond; great-grandchildren Alexis Steib, Brayden Granier, Andre Duplantis, Christian Martin, Grace Bergeron, Colt Bergeron, and Callie Becnel. He is preceded in death by his parents, Louis Edward Becnel and Corestile Stein Becnel; his brothers, Elmo J. Becnel, and John Edward Becnel; and his step-mother Adele Stein Becnel. Visitation and a mass of Christian burial were held Wednesday, August 13, at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, in Vacherie. He was laid to rest the church Cemetery.
