Ascension of Our Lord on Aug. 10

On Sunday, Aug. 10, and Tuesday, Aug. 19, there will be registration held for this fall’s soccer season at Ascension of our Lord. St. Joan of Arc Golf “Scorsone” Golf Classic

slated for Sept. 15

The St. Joan of Arc Catholic School 9th Annual Frank Scorsone Golf Classic is scheduled for Monday, Sept. 15 at Riverlands Country Club.  There will be a 10:30 a.m. lunch, followed by a noon shotgun start. St. John Wildcat Youth football registration

Aug. 4 to Aug.18

The St. John Wildcat Youth Football organization is taking registration for the fall season beginning Aug. 4, and extending to Aug. 18 at Regala Park, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. each night.Age groups will be 6-8, 9-10, and 11-12. For more info, call (504) 415-3445.

River League Pelicans having benefit

Luncheon on Aug. 14

On Thursday, Aug. 14, there will be a benefit luncheon held for the River League Pelicans baseball team. Spaghetti, green beans, salad, bread and dessert will be served. Cost will be $6 per plate. Deadline to order is Tuesday, Aug. 12 at 2 p.m. Pick-up location will be in Matherne’s (LaPlace) parking lot from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Free delivery for orders of 10 or more. “Meet the Comets” night, softball get-together at SCC on Sunday

On Sunday, Aug. 3, former St. Charles softball coach Teri Hruska will host a get together of Comet softball players from 1991-2001 (Hruska’s tenure with the team) from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Comets gym.
