LaPlace man named to La. Art Council

BATON ROUGE – Governor Bobby Jindal announced the appointment of Robert Fisher of LaPlace to the Louisiana State Arts Council.
Fisher is an art teacher at Destrehan High School and a member of the River Regions Art and Humanities Board. Fisher was nominated by the president of the Louisiana Senate, as required by statute.
The Louisiana State Arts Council serves to address significant arts related issues of importance to Louisiana and approve grants awarded by the Louisiana Division of the Arts.
Other appointments to the Louisiana State Arts Council include:
Rep. Steve Carter, of Baton Rouge, is a member of the Louisiana House of Representatives representing the 68th District. Carter was nominated by the speaker of the House of Representatives, as required by statute.
