L. Donald Madere passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2009, at Ochsner Medical Center in Kenner. Age 80. Born in Hahnville and lived in this area since 1950. Retired from Shell Oil. A veteran of the U.S. Navy in the Korean Conflict. He was Catholic.
Suvivors include sons Danny Madere and his wife Jane of LaPlace, Perry Madere and his wife Leslie of LaPlace and Glenn Madere and his wife Dollie of Destrehan, daughters Mary Madere of New Iberia and Dawn Tregre and her husband David of Atlanta, son-in-law Wayne Honnoll Sr. of LaPlace, brother Farrell Madere and his wife Isabelle of Hahnville and grandchildren Becky, Cory, Shawn, Mark, Wayne Jr., Laurel, Logan, Kevin and Julie.
Preceded in death by wife Barbara Faucheux Madere, parents James Madere and Julie Gaubert Madere, daughter Peggy Honnoll, brothers Fred, Alvin and Russell and sisters Delores and Billie.
Services were held on Friday, Feb. 6, at the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Interment in the St. Charles Mausoleum.
