Lezin Charles Oubre Jr. died on Monday, Jan. 12, 2009, at 10:37 p.m. at his residence. Age 81, he was a native of Norco and worked for Shell Oil for 35 years. He was a World War II veteran in the U.S. Navy. Survived by beloved wife Wilma Oubre of River Ridge, son Lezin “Chuck” Oubre III of LaPlace, step-son Mark Ganier of Florida, daughters Dellery Oubre Mitchell and her husband Marcus of Destrehan and Dardie “Deede” Oubre of River Ridge, brothers George T. Oubre and James Bradley Oubre, grandchildren Meghan Mitchell and Colin Mitchell and step-grandchild Brent Ganier Jr.
Preceded in death by parents Lezin Charles Oubre Sr. and Marguerite Bradley Oubre, former wife Beryl Boudreaux Oubre, step-sons Brent Ganier and Wade Ganier and brother Roger Kay Oubre. He was very gregarious and outgoing with many friends. He was also an ardent gardener.
Visitation and services were held on Friday, Jan. 16, at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Norco. Interment followed in the St. Charles Borromeo Mausoleum.
