Joyce “Biggie” Joseph of Fort Sam Houston, Texas, died Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009, of post-surgical complications. Joyce was 53 years old and the sixth of eight children born to Ulysses Felton Sr. and Theresa Jones Felton. Joyce, born on Jan. 11, 1956, is the identical twin of the late Lois Torregano.
Joyce acknowledged a love for the Lord Jesus Christ at the tender age of 6, when she was baptized at the True Light Baptist Church in Garyville. Ricky Joseph, on Oct. 4, 1976, and resided with him during a 23-year military career. After nine years of military retirement, she and her husband returned to military service at Fort Sam Houston until her God ordained departure from this world. Joyce was the loving mother of two girls and one boy (Tiffiney Dennard, Rachel Seibert and Ricky Joseph II).
She leaves behind Ricky Joseph, her husband of 33 years, three children, two sons-in-law and two grandchildren. Also her mother and brothers and sisters Margie Felton Johnson of Garyville, Sherman Felton of Temecula, Calif., Valrina Felton of Douglasville, Ga., Ulysses Felton Jr. of Los Angeles and Juanita Felton Bridges of Shreveport. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
