LaPlace – Students at Wee Care Preschool recently learned the importance of recycling. Lt. Wayne Norwood and Sgt. Loma Linda Michel with the Community Relations Division of the St. John Parish Sheriff’s Department visited the school and spoke with the Pre-K3 and Pre-K4 classes on how to recycle at home with the help of their parents. They also spoke to the children about not littering to keep our community clean and beautiful.

Wee Care students were encouraged to bring a recyclable from home to place in Wee Care’s recycle bin. Several bins were filled and brought to a local recycling collection site. The students also enjoyed recycle themed books, movie and a yummy “compost-style” snack filled with pudding, oreo cookies and gummy worms.
