AMIkids Donaldsonville announced 2010 Life Cornerstone Awards

Donaldsonville – Reginald “Duck” Brown (Ascension Parish), Alvin “Tony” Williams (Assumption Parish) and Janel Gordon (St. James Parish) were recently awarded the AMIkids Donaldsonville Life Cornerstone Award in recognition of their lifetime achievements and contributions to the community life of juveniles in Ascension, Assumption and St. James parishes. Williams stated “he was doing God’s work with the youth in the area.”
The awards were presented at the Krewe of AMIkids Board of Trustee’s Inaugural Mardi Gras Gala fundraiser held at Roses Catering on Saturday, Feb. 6.
AMIkids Donaldsonville is one of eight day treatment programs in Louisiana designed to rehabilitate adjudicated elementary, middle and high school students. The program offers academic instruction, experiential education, counseling, mentoring, goal setting and attempts to increase self-esteem through responsibility and accountability. The overall goal is to provide an opportunity for students who are academically behind in school and have behavioral issues.
