BATON ROUGE – After nearly two years of work at the state Capitol, LaPlace resident Natalie Robottom announced her plans to resign as director of the Governor’s Office of Community Programs, according to a release from Gov. Bobby Jindal.

Robottom is expected to anounce her candidacy for St. John Parish President soon.

Jindal said in a statement issued Wednesday Assistant Chief of Staff Tammy Woods will take over when Robottom leaves office Friday.

“Natalie has done a great job running the Office of Community Programs, and we are grateful for her service to our state,” Jindal said in the statement.

Robottom served as St. John the Baptist Parish chief administrative officer and chief financial officer under former Parish President Nickie Monica. In 2007, she was a candidate for parish president and came within three-tenths of a percent of being elected over former Parish President Bill Hubbard, who resigned from office in September.

Robottom joined the governor’s office in January 2008 after a brief stint as parish manager for Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government.
