St. Charles Borromeo School kindergarten and first grade students were recently visited by Curtis Akey from the Audubon Nature Institute’s Bugmobile. The presentation explained what makes a bug an insect. During the visit, each child was given the opportunity to touch an eastern lovers grasshopper seen during the spring and summer months and a fully grown female Malaysian nymph (walking stick leaf bug). Also shown was the vinegarroon and a six-year-old Chilean rose haired tarantula.
