LAPLACE –St. John the Baptist Parish authorities are asking for the public’s help in locating a LaPlace man who is wanted in connection with an August armed robbery in Reserve.
Tevin Zeno, 19, of Dove Street, is one of two men who allegedly robbed two women last year in front of a residence in the 200 block of Terrio Drive, said Capt. Dane Clement, public information officer for the Sheriff’s Office.
According to a release at the time of the incident, the victims, both 56, told authorities that as they were getting out of their vehicle two men wearing dark clothing and bandanas approached them.
The men, armed with handguns, grabbed the women’s purses and drove away.
Just minutes after the robbery took place a patrol deputy spotted a vehicle matching a description of the one from the robbery on Airline Highway near Whitlow Court in LaPlace.
The report said when the deputy tried to stop the vehicle, the passenger, later identified as Zeno, jumped out, ran from the scene and jumped a fence on Whitlow Court. The driver of the vehicle, later identified as Tyren Fobb, 21, of LaPlace, was caught.
Clement said when deputies checked the vehicle Fobb was driving they found a handgun along with some of the property of the two victims.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Zeno should call St. John Detective Jerry Fountain at 985-359-8769 or Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111.
