Ulyssess A. “Bobby” Melancon, 84, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 7, 2010. He was a native of Gramercy and a lifelong resident of Lutcher.
He was the devoted husband of the late Rose Mae Lambert Melancon; loving father of George (Sandy), Bruce (Roberta), Errol “Chuck” (Sharon), Dale (Kim) Melancon, Mary Liz Cantillo (James “Dago”), daughter in law Sheila Melancon and the late Brian Melancon; son of the late Justina Landry Melancon and George Melancon Jr.; and brother of Dudley “Dutch,” Huey “Buddy” Melancon, Rita Mae Lambert, Gladys Crowe and the late Earline Labat and Velma Keller.
He leaves behind 20 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Bobby was also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina. Entombment followed in St. Joseph Cemetery, Paulina.
