No longer a need to conserve water on east bank of St. John Parish

St. John Parish officials have canceled a call for east bank residents to restrict water usage that was put in place over the weekend.
Parish spokesperson Paige Braud said Utilities Department employees have completed replacement of about 70 filters for the parish’s reverse osmosis water treatment plant in LaPlace. The plant treats water from wells in Ruddock.
Braud said the water was never in danger of being unsafe, but said supply was limited during maintenance at the plant. She added that once the maintenance was complete, water from the plant was tested and approved for consumption
