Dowie Gendron, 83, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 9, 2011.

He was the beloved husband of the late Annabelle Edler Gendron and father of Dowie (Dee) II and David Gendron, Sandra Ratcliff (J.D.), Anne Iris Terrio (Barry), Nancy Holmes (Barry), Geraldine Cox (Henry), Glenda Arcuri (Len) and Sundy Fitch (Ron). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

He was son of the late Jorda and Angeline Gendron and brother of the late Mildred Keller, Earline Duhe, Roline and Roy Gendron.

He was a native and resident of LaPlace.

Visitation was held Tuesday, Jan. 11, and Wednesday, Jan. 12, at Millet-Guidry Funeral Home in LaPlace, followed by a Mass at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in LaPlace. Burial was in St. Peter Cemetery in Reserve.
