LAPLACE – Southbound lanes of Interstate 55 from Manchac to LaPlace will experience alternating lane closures next week while work is done to repair equipment on both sides of the roadway, according to a release from the state Department of Transportation.

Beginning Monday, alternating closures will occur between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. daily through Sunday, March 20. One lane will remain open at all times, but motorists can expect some delays throughout the area.

The closure will allow 12 feet wide or smaller vehicles to pass through the construction zone.
