DESTREHAN – St. Charles Parish Sheriff Greg Champagne needs help from the public in identifying a suspicious person who has been approaching females in the Winn Dixie parking lot in Destrehan.

The suspect, described as a white male age 40 to 60 with a dark complexion, was seen driving a blue and gray two-toned Ford pick up truck with tan trim. He is accused on two occasions of approaching females in the parking lot and making lewd comments toward them, according to Capt. Pat Yoes, spokesman for the St. Charles Sheriff’s Office.

Yoes said the first incident occurred June 2 around 1 p.m. A female was loading groceries into her vehicle when the white male stranger stopped behind her in his truck and made lewd comments and gestures toward her. When she threatened to call the police, the stranger left in the direction of Ormond Boulevard.

The woman described the man as having gray short straight hair, no facial hair, stocky build and wearing a light colored T-shirt with sunglasses.

The suspect was observed circling the parking lot several times before he approached the female.

Yoes said the second incident occurred Friday around 2:30 p.m. when the alleged suspect approached two 17-year-old girls and behaved in the same fashion as the first incident.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Lt. Eric Brass at 985-783-1135.

A surveillance photo of the subject and his vehicle can be seen on the St. Charles Sheriff’s Office website at http:// www.stcharlessheriff.org/Archive.aspx?AMID=36&Type=Recent.
