From Airline Highway in LaPlace to Broadway in New York, with performances in New Orleans, LaPlace native Leslie Castay’s next stop is Friday, May 20, at the St. John Theatre in Reserve.

Leslie has been living a dream and entertaining thousands as she brings glamour and elegance to anything she does. She has graciously agreed to repeat her critically acclaimed (Le Chat Noir, New Orleans) performance of “Leslie Castay – “Unscripted.”

This year, the RRAHC (River Region Arts and Humanities Council) will benefit from this, their major fundraiser. The RRAHC, a nonprofit organization formed in 1997, is made up of over 250 citizens from the River Parishes. Its function is to promote the arts and humanities, preserve and enhance local culture and support education.

Since its inception, the group has financed over 300 grants for the arts totaling over $350,000.

Leslie has been referred to as “the perfect soprano songbird.” She is the winner of the 2010 Big Easy Award for Best Actress in a Musical, “Grey Gardens.”

The Friday performance will begin at 7:30 p.m. with the doors opening at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 per person in advance and $28 at the door. Advance tickets may be purchased at Allied Express in LaPlace and Phil Breaux’s Barber Shoppe in Reserve.
