Teen charged with March armed robbery

LAPLACE – Authorities in St. John the Baptist Parish arrested a Reserve teen in connection with a March armed robbery at a Reserve home.
Kevin Alexander, 17, a resident of East 14th Street in Reserve, was charged with armed robbery with a firearm after the turned himself in to St. John sheriff’s deputies Tuesday, said Capt. Dane Clement, spokesman for the Sheriff’s Office. Alexander is accused of robbing a 48-year-old man inside his East 10th Street home on the evening of March 18.
According to a release from the Sheriff’s Office, the victim in the robbery told deputies when he entered his home around 9:30 p.m. a male suspect confronted him with a gun.
He said the suspect pointed a gun at him and asked him for his cash.
Clement said the victim was not injured in the robbery.
Alexander is currently being held in the Sherman Walker Correctional Center in LaPlace, where he is being held on a $75,000 bond.
