Lt. Cmdr. Mark Galiano
Lt. Cmdr. Mark Galiano retired from the U.S. Navy on July1, after 20 years of service.
A native of LaPlace, he graduated from Riverside Academy and is also an alumni of LSU and Seattle University.
Galiano served as a Supply Corps officer aboard the Aegis cruiser – USS Mobile Bay, the Trident submarine – USS Henry M. Jackson and the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier – USS Abraham Lincoln. His most recent duty station was Afloat Training Group Western Pacific in Yokosuka, Japan.
Upon retirement, he accepted an offer to join federal service at the Fleet Logistics Center, Yokosuka, Japan, as the regional HAZMIN director.
He and his wife, Mie, have a 5-year-old son named Benjamin.
Galiano is the son of Don and Maria Galiano of Gramercy.
