Eliana DeFrancesch, St. John the Baptist clerk of court, has scheduled the following Election Commissioner schools for Tuesday, Aug. 16, at 6 p.m. at the Edgard Courthouse, 2393 Louisiana Highway 18, Edgard, and Wednesday, Aug. 17, at 7 p.m. at the Arcuri Center, 1020 Cambridge Drive, LaPlace.

The reapportionment has split precincts and added new ones, so new commissioners are needed for the Oct. 22 election. Any St. John registered voter is invited to attend. The pay for the day is $200 through the secretary of state’s office.

All voters should check their voter registration card, the clerk of court’s website at www.stjohnclerk.org or the secretary of state’s website at www.sos.louisiana.gov before going to the polls to vote because the location of their precinct may have changed.
