Gaines, Wise in House runoff; Brown, Aubert in Senate runoff

Randal Gaines and Russ Wise will face off in a runoff for the House of Representatives District 57 seat. Gaines received 42 percent of the vote (5,314), and Wise had 30 percent (3,756).
In House District 56, Greg Miller just missed a first-round victory, receiving 49.59 percent of the vote (6,532) . He will be in a runoff with Ram Ramchandran, who received 39 percent (5,163 votes)
In Senate District 2, challenger Troy Brown and incumbent Elton Aubert appear to be headed to a runoff, though all precincts are not in. Brown leads with 36 percent, and Aubert has 28.
In Senate District 19, Gary Smith was the winner with 60 percent (16,501 votes). Garrett Monti had 40 percent, 11,215 votes.
In the BESE District 2 race, Kira Orange Jones received 34 percent (2,833 votes) and will be in a runoff with incumbent Louella P. Givens, who received 20 percent, or 1,617 votes.
