‘Meet the author’ at St. John Library
Published 12:00 am Saturday, November 5, 2011
In a continuance of the popular, “Meet the Author” series, St. John Parish Public Library will present local author Tom Weber. Weber, a native of LaPlace and graduate of St. Charles Catholic High School. He will be speaking at the central library in LaPlace, on Tuesday, Nov. 8, at 6:30 p.m. He wrote a children’s book titled “My First Who Dat Story,” which debuted Sept. 13. Weber will be speaking about why he wrote the book and the process he went through to write it and get it published.
The book relives the memories of one of the most memorable seasons in New Orleans sports history with your favorite little Who Dat fans. In the book, he follows the team from their humble beginnings through the magic of a championship season in this easy to read book that has a rhyming format. Although “Who Dat” concentrates on the Saints’ seasons after returning to the Superdome following Hurricane Katrina, the book also gives those Saints fans too young to remember a glimpse of life back when people wore bags on their heads at the Superdome and referred to their hometown squad as the “Ain’ts.”
In addition to speaking of his experiences in becoming a published author, he will also be selling and signing his book at the library after the program.
