Irene Lousteau Poche, 66, passed away Aug. 20, 2012, at her home. She was a native and resident of Gramercy.
She is survived by her daughter, Shannon Poche, a son, Raymond Poche, and daughter-in-law, Ginger D. Poche.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond “Ray” Poche Jr., and her parents, Lee and Bertha Lousteau. She will be greatly missed by her three grandchildren: Philip, Sydney and Ruston Poche.
Irene was a retired registered nurse who worked for her good friends Drs. K. E. and Leya Mathew. Irene had the gift of music. She could write songs, play music and sing. She sang at countless events, weddings, funerals and masses.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2012, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Rose Lynn Funeral Services, 1870 Cabanose Ave., Lutcher. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012, from 8 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Gramercy at 11 a.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph Church Cemetery in Paulina.
