LAPLACE – Rumors circulating throughout the parish regarding the possible cancellation of LaPlace’s Krewe du Monde parade are completely unfounded, according to representatives from the LaPlace Lions club, which organizes the event.
“We just wanted to let everyone in the community know that are parade is still on and will still roll at its regular time,” said Lions Club President Christy Duhe. “A few Lions members had mentioned the rumors, and we had even gotten calls from the Sheriff’s Office about it. All of our festivities are still on.”
The Krewe du Monde Parade will roll Sunday, Feb. 19, at noon in LaPlace.
