Have you ever realized that the definitions of faith and fear are identical? The difference is that faith brings peace to the individual, while fear gives one a feeling of anxiety, agitation and torment caused by the presence or nearness of danger, evil, pain and doubt.

Faith is an unquestionable belief that does not require proof or evidence. It is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. The forces of fear will cause a person to think the worst instead of believing God for the best.

Fear will continually tell us that we are unworthy to receive what God has promised. Fear will cause a person to fall apart and allow the enemy (Satan) to rob them of their peace, joy and confidence.

The Bible says the joy of the Lord is our strength. Without joy we are weak.

The Christian walk can be compared to the athlete who is not in the best physical condition. The weak Christian will not experience the victory that is assured by God. The poor conditional athlete will never experience the excitement of being a champion.

A champion is made in the training room, exercising, weight lifting and doing all the things necessary for a strong and healthy body.

For a Christian to walk daily in the victory, his spiritual life has to be in excellent condition. Only the Word of God will prepare a person to walk in victory. Does that mean that we will never entertain some fearful emotions? No, but the prepared Christian will be able to resist fear.

Years ago, a friend of mine told me that fear is False Evidence Appearing Real. Satan is the author of lies, and his job is to deceive God’s children. Faith is a belief that our strength lies in our dependence upon God, realizing we do not know what the future holds, but we know that God holds the future.

Without faith, it is impossible to serve God. Can a weak Christian go the Heaven? Without a doubt, but they will not enjoy the journey on their way to their destination.
