Yvonne Thomas, owner of Yvonne’s Directions in Dance in Lutcher, recently awarded a $200 scholarship and award in honor of her grandmother, Anna Mollere Heltz of Reserve.

Selection of this scholarship is based on academic achievement, dance ability, leadership and contributions to school and community.

Jasmine Taylor, 17-year-old daughter of Nadine and Earl Taylor of Vacherie, was the recipient.

Taylor has studied dance for 14 years and was a student teacher and a member of the studio’s national award winning dance company. She will be attending Northeast Louisiana University in Nachotiches in the fall.
