St. Charles Borromeo eighth-grade graduation

DESTREHAN – St. Charles Borromeo School in Destrehan held its eighth-grade graduation recently.
Drew Melancon was presented with the Merit Award for achieving the overall highest grade-point average for the school year.
Chochy Lousteau received the Honor Award for achieving the second highest overall GPA for the school year. Lousteau received an academic scholarship to Brother Martin High School for the 2012-13 school year.
Sara Louque received the Vieux Carre Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizen medal.
Miles Patureau and Faith Ryan were the recipients of the American Legion Award. Morgan Nobile received the Knights of Columbus Leadership Award.
Students receiving the Presidential Award for Academic Excellence were Courtland Crouchet, Angelle Keller, Rebecca Laurent, Chochy Lousteau, Drew Melancon, Morgan Nobile, Miles Patureau, Faith Ryan and Troy Sbisa.
Students receiving the Presidential Award for Academic Achievement were Nikki Champagne, Sara Louque, Alayna Melancon and Kane Robicheaux.
Students receiving the Joyce D. Faucheaux Longevity Award were Jaren Boudoin, Sarah Braud, Jayce Brown, John Bulger, Nikki Champagne, Courtland Crouchet, Christian Galey, Tyler Harvey, Angelle Keller, Rebecca Laurent, Sara Louque, Alayna Melancon, Morgan Nobile, Miles Patureau, Kane Robicheaux, Alyssa Smith and Kellie Verret.
Rebecca Laurent, Kane Robicheaux and Jayce Brown received the Christianity Award. Chochy Lousteau and Morgan Nobile received the Borromeo Award.
Students honored for the highest GPA in subjects were Rebecca Laurent – Math 8, Jaren Boudoin – English Literature, Chochy Lousteau – Algebra I, Physical Science, Religion, Technology and French, Drew Melancon – English I, Social Studies and Spanish.
Students recognized for achieving Principal’s List or honor roll status for all four nine weeks were Rebecca Laurent, Chochy Lousteau, Drew Melancon and Morgan Nobile. Chochy Lousteau was recognized as the school’s eighth-grade Student of the Year.
