Residents of the River Parishes can still enter for a chance to win a special 14-karat gold sapphire and diamond fleur de lis pendant that honors the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s deputies who were killed and injured in the Aug. 16 shooting in LaPlace. Roussel’s Fine Jewelry and Gifts created the piece as a fundraiser for the families of Jeremy Triche, Brandon Nielson, Jason Triche and Michael Scott Boyington. The pendant will be raffled off in November with all proceeds going to the families of the deputies. Tickets cost $5. Earl Rodrigue, manager of the LaPlace Roussel’s location, said in the first three days of the raffle, 500 tickets were sold. Tickets are now on sale at the LaPlace (232 Belle Terre Blvd.) Gramercy (330 E. Main St.) and Boutte (13413 U.S. Highway 90) locations of Roussel’s. (Staff photo by Robin Shannon)
