Guy Montz, 94, passed away Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012, in Baton Rouge. He was a native of Lyons, a U.S. Army veteran in World War II and a welder with Shell Oil for 38 years.
He was the husband of the late Alma Babin Montz, father of Glen Montz (Joanna) and Janet Brassette (Billy), son of the late Lizzie Cambre and Frank Montz, brother of Lester Montz, the late Claude, Sidney, Ben and Joe Montz, Lena Schexnaydre, Lucretia Pollet, Agnes Lousteau, Grace St. Pierre and Beulah Trepagnier, grandfather of Jason Montz, Jennifer Burchfield, Billy Brassette Jr. and Desiree Brassette and great-grandfather of Ava Burchfield.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 13396 River Road, Destrehan. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. at the church with Fr. Tom McCann serving as celebrant. Burial will follow in the church mausoleum.
