LAPLACE – When Victoria Redler fell on hard times eight years ago, she was gratified to receive help from the LaPlace community.

So now that she and her business are on steady ground, Redier said she is doing whatever she can to give back.

Redler is the owner of Daydream Massage, located at 408 Belle Terre Blvd. in LaPlace. A fully licensed massage therapist with more than 12 years of experience, Redler’s center offers pain management therapy, medical massage as well as relaxation massage therapy in a spa-like atmosphere. She has run her own business for 12 years and has been in her current location for the past four years.

But eight years ago when her husband left her with two small children to raise, Redler was in dire straits. That’s when she found help from the St. John Ministry of Care.

“They helped me and my children,” Redler said. “They provided me with food, with diapers. They even paid my electricity bill. They just really gave me a hand up.”

Redler is offering a December Giving Special. Throughout the month of December Redler has lowered the cost of a one-hour Swedish Massage to $49 and a one-hour Deep Tissue Massage to $59. Also, any customer who brings in any toiletry item or any monetary donation for the St. John Ministry of Care will receive a free peppermint foot scrub – one of Redler’s specialty items.

Redler said the community of LaPlace could use the help. The area is still struggling to recover from the devastating flood caused by Hurricane Isaac in December.

“I know some people are having a hard time,” Redler said. “I didn’t flood and I’m thankful for that. I’m very grateful for what I have. This is just my way of paying it forward.”
