Boy Scout Troop 406 of LaPlace recently took a trip to the Great Smokey Mountain National Park, where they camped and hiked 40 miles including a stretch of the Appalachian Trail.  The boys have been asked to return next year and facilitate a July 4 program, educating park guests on flag etiquette and retirement. Posing for a picture are (left to right) Daniel Brown, Jared McElveen, Alex Watkins, Jacob Mullins, Kevin Dasch, Bryce Watkins, Chuck Watkins, Nick Harrington and Josh Duhe.
