The River Region Drama Guild will hold an Adult Theater Class for novices and veterans who want to take to the stage, enjoy theater games, improvise and best of all laugh and have fun! This free Adult Theater Class will be held for four weeks on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning Tuesday, Sept. 3 and ending on Thursday, Sept. 26. The workshop will be from 6:30–8:30 p.m. at the River Region Performing Arts and Cultural Center, 15146 River Road, Norco. Preregistration is not required. For additional information call Henry Sorbet at 504-331-0990.
Novices will learn the basic techniques of stage acting: using your voice, body and mind to pursue objectives, overcome obstacles, create characters and scenes and work as an ensemble. Veterans will have the opportunity to expand performance skills and develop acting technique as they practice and present scenes.
Ever watch actors and wonder, How did they do that? Here is your chance to find out! In this workshop, everyone will be introduced to the basics of acting through improvisational games and skits. Explore characters in a trusting environment and discover a great new way to express yourself. Join with a friend or a partner and double the fun.
River Region Drama Guild will focus on improvisations and contemporary scene work. Participants will be paired up with appropriate partners for scenes. Whether you are a beginning or advanced actor, this workshop will work for you. Participants are on their feet in every class and each session contains games, scene work, specific assignments and cool-down. The workshop will culminate in a final performance.
