Students at John L. Ory Communication Arts Magnet School received a special lunch for reaching the advanced level on last year’s LEAP and iLEAP tests.
John L. Ory Principal Teri Noel promised the students before they took the test in the spring that if they scored advanced on the tests that she would take them out for a steak lunch. Noel made good on her promise and took about 40 students for a steak lunch at Fatty’s Main Street Grill in LaPlace.
Ory consistently attains a high school performance score on the state’s ranking scale, which takes into account student test scores and other data. Noel said she thought it was important to reward the students who help the school achieve its high score.
