Child Advocacy Services in partnership with AT&T announced the fifth annual Cottages for CASA Playhouse Raffle winners. All tickets were drawn at Stine Lumber in Walker, Wednesday, Nov. 20, at 10 a.m. The first ticket drawn for the Chateau Cottage was Sharon Posey from Pumpkin Center. The second ticket and winner of the Coastal Cottage was Mark Nettles of Hammond. The third ticket for the week Beach Cottage Stay by Resort Quest was Dedria Williams of Baton Rouge.
Cottages for CASA raises public awareness and funding to support services to children and families through our Court Appointed Special Advocates and Children’s Advocacy Center Programs. Two custom playhouses were built in partnership with designers Acadiana Design and Holly and Smith Architects, builders E Jacob FaKouri Construction, Glen Alack, Darrel Amar Jr., and Malcolm Fitzhugh. All materials were supplied by Stine Lumber and Gabriel Building Supply.
“We are extremely grateful to all our partners that helped make this project an overwhelming success.” noted Rob Carlisle, CEO Child Advocacy Services.”Anytime we can invite others from the community to participate in our work for children and produce outstanding results like this, our children win. It shows our community that children come first.”
More than 2,100 tickets were sold for this event. The overall event was the most successful ever.
“This year was the first year we have been able to build two different playhouses and feature them in different communities we serve” said Carlisle. “Each raffle ticket generously helps us provide services to children in our community. I am thankful to each person who took a chance. Thank you. We are excited that this will grow and others will be interested in joining this extraordinary project next year.”
